The children’s literature publishing field is currently dominated by white women. As a result, book reviews in traditional trade publications are often subject to a limited perspective when reviewing diverse books. Supplementing these professional reviews with book reviews from individuals with diverse backgrounds provides a more well-rounded and accurate understanding of the children’s literature being published today.
